Requirements
At CLLAIMM Academy, our teachers play a vital role in creating a nurturing, creative, and faith-inspired learning environment where every child can grow and thrive. Below are the key requirements for joining our team:
Education & Training
Must be 18 years or older
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development
OR at least 6 completed ECE units and currently enrolled in 2 or more additional units each semester until fully qualified
Coursework must include:

Child, Family & Community
Program/Curriculum
Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
Experience
At least 2 years of experience working in a licensed preschool or early learning environment
Experience developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom
Certifications & Clearances
CPR and First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain upon hire)
Mandated Reporter Training (Child Abuse Reporting)
Health & Safety Training (per California licensing)
TB test clearance
Immunization records (MMR, Tdap, Influenza or waiver)
LiveScan fingerprinting and DOJ/FBI background clearance through Community Care Licensing
Professional Expectations
Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times
Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
Willingness to attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, bend, and interact at children’s level
Maintains warmth, empathy, and patience in every interaction
Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to design and lead creative, hands-on learning experiences
Skill in documenting and assessing children’s progress
Dedication to keeping the classroom safe, organized, and inspiring
